
Cal Poly STUNT Advances to Semifinals of National Championships

NASHVILLE – After dropping its opening match of the national championship to No. 2 Kentucky Friday, Cal Poly STUNT bounced back Saturday with a pair of victories to advance into Sunday’s semifinals in Nashville.
The No. 3 Mustangs took advantage of the double elimination tournament style, defeating Mercyhurst in the morning Saturday 25-15 followed by a 25-14 win over Missouri State later in the day to put themselves into the semifinals and back into contention to win the national championship.
Against Mercyhurst, Katie Wood was named player of the game for the Mustangs. Against Missouri State, Emma Osterink received player of the game honors.
Cal Poly is now set for a rematch against No. 2 Kentucky in the semifinals, which will take place Sunday at 9:15 a.m. PT. The winner will advance to the finals to take on No. 1 California Baptist at 1:30 p.m. PT.
