
STUNT Splits of Pair Games in Costa Mesa on Saturday

COSTA MESA, Calif. — Cal Poly STUNT split a pair of games on Saturday to wrap up its season-opening weekend of action.
Competing inside the Freed Center in Costa Mesa, the Mustangs (2-2) took down Vanguard University 31-14 before falling short to Jessup University 29-11.
In the battle with Vanguard, the Mustangs outscored the Lions in every quarter, including 13-8 in the fourth quarter.
Against Jessup, Cal Poly fought hard, but fell short in every quarter. The Mustangs kept it close in the third quarter, jumps and tumbling, as they were edged out 4-3 by the Warriors.
On Friday in Riverside, the Mustangs defeated Concordia University Irvine 29-22 in their season opener to capture their first victory since becoming a varsity sport.
Cal Poly travels to Dallas next weekend for four games inside the Burg Center. The Mustangs face Missouri and Central Arkansas on Friday, Feb. 20, before capping the trip against Dallas Baptist and University of Texas on Saturday, Feb. 21.
