
Cal Poly Falls at UC San Diego, 75-54

LA JOLLA, Calif. — The Cal Poly women’s basketball team dropped its Big West road game Thursday afternoon, falling 75-54 to UC San Diego at RIMAC Arena.
The Mustangs (2-11, 0-3 Big West) were led by Vanessa McManus, who scored 17 points to pace all Mustangs. Charish Thompson finished with 10 points, while Alana Goosby added seven and Gabby Robinson chipped in six.
UC San Diego (7-5, 2-0 Big West) built a 34-19 halftime lead and maintained control throughout the second half. The Tritons had three players score in double figures, led by Rosa Smith’s 21 points. Erin Condron scored 14, and Sabrina Ma added 12.
Cal Poly shot 35.1 percent from the field and 26.7 percent from three-point range, while committing 16 turnovers. UC San Diego converted those opportunities into 21 points, extending its lead in the third quarter.
Cal Poly returns home to continue Big West play on Saturday, Jan. 3, hosting Long Beach State at 2 p.m. inside Mott Athletics Center. The game will stream on ESPN+.
