PHOENIX – Senior Bastiaan Weststrate collected his seventh singles win of the season, but Cal Poly men's tennis fell on the road at Grand Canyon University Wednesday, 4-1.
In doubles, the Cal Poly duo of Aaron Eliscu and Wian Roothman won their match at the No. 3 spot, 6-4. However, the Lopes won at both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots to take the point.
In singles, Weststrate won his match at the No. 2 spot 6-2, 6-4 to improve his record on the season to 7-7.
GCU then won at the 4, 5, and 6 spots to clinch the 4-1 victory.
Cal Poly will stay in Phoenix Thursday to face Seattle University in a neutral site match at GCU at 10 a.m.
