Mustangs Play Final Road Game of 2025 Saturday at No. 24 NAU

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly football will play its final road game of the 2025 season Saturday when traveling to Flagstaff to take on No. 24 Northern Arizona. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. PT.

Cal Poly will be looking to break a five-game losing skid with a win this weekend against the Lumberjacks. However, the Mustangs’ schedule this season ranks as the 16th hardest in all of FCS. This will be their sixth game of the season facing a ranked team.
The Mustangs (3-7, 1-5 Big Sky) will now face an NAU team that also comes into the game with a 6-4 record, 3-3 in Big Sky play and are looking to push for a playoff bid. They are coming off a 49-10 win over Northern Colorado last week.
They rank as the third best passing offense in the Big Sky at 257 yards in the air per game. Quarterback Ty Pennington ranks second in the conference in passing yards with 2,510 entering Saturday’s contest. On defense, cornerback Quentin Moten is second in the Big Sky interceptions with four.
For the Mustangs, quarterback Ty Dieffenbach is coming off a big game against Idaho State, accounting for over 300 yards of total offense and two touchdowns, including 142 yards rushing. Cal Poly’s offense ranks 26th in the FCS in passing at 242.6 yards per game.
Defensively, the Mustangs still boast the top two tacklers in the Big Sky. Linebacker Mikey D’Amato is first with 120 which currently ranks seventh most in a season in program history, which is also third most in the FCS. Fellow linebacker Kenny Olson is second with 98 tackles, which is 13th in the FCS.
Just the 17th all-time meeting with NAU, Cal Poly is looking for its first win over the Lumberjacks since 2018. NAU leads the all-time series, 14-2.
Following this week’s game, the Mustangs will return home for the regular season finale Saturday, Nov. 22 against Eastern Washington. Kickoff at Mustang Memorial Field is set for 2 p.m.
