Cal Poly Men’s Tennis Hits the Road For Pair of Big West Matches

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – After a strong start to Big West play last week with a win over Hawai'i, the Cal Poly men's tennis team will be looking to take two more wins at their away matches this week.

The Mustangs will first play UC Riverside on Thursday, April 4 at 1 p.m. followed by a match against UC Irvine on Saturday, April 6 at 12 p.m. Thursday's match at UC Riverside will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Following the big win over Hawai'i, Bastiaan Weststrate and Colter Smith continue to shine in doubles. The pair has a record of 8-2 and have been ranked in the top slot in doubles all season.

As for singles, both Fernando Fonseca and Sean Kamyshev have promising season records so far, with Fonseca at 5-2 overall and Kamyshev at 7-5 overall.

UC Riverside has an overall record of 3-13 overall following a loss against UNLV. UC Irvine is at 10-5 overall following a 7-0 win against Army.

After the UC Irvine match on Saturday, the Mustangs will be back in SLO for a three-match stretch at home, starting with No. 49 USC on Wednesday, April 10 at 2 p.m.
