LIVE RESULTS — MIKE FANELLI TRACK CLASSIC
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly track and field program heads to the Bay Area this Friday and Saturday for a pair of meets, splitting the team between the prestigious Stanford Invitational and the Mike Fanelli Track Classic hosted by San Francisco State.
At the Stanford Invitational, action on the opening day Friday will last over 12 hours as the meet gets underway at 9 a.m. and wraps up after 11:30 p.m. with the final heat of the men's 10,000-meter. Events on the final day start at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Over at the 15th annual Mike Fanelli Track Classic — which will be held at Chabot College in Hayward — events begin at 9:30 a.m. each day.
Live results, heat sheets and schedules for both meets can be found on the Cal Poly track and field schedule page on GoPoly.com. Livestreams are available for both meets on FloTrack with the purchase of a subscription.
Weather is expected to impact both meets so follow Cal Poly track and field on Instagram (@calpolytfxc) and X/Twitter (@CalPolyTrack_XC) for updates on both throughout.
Cal Poly is a week removed from hosting its only regular season home meet this spring — the second annual Mark Conover Classic on March 22-23. The Mustangs captured 15 event victories while battling athletes from UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Bakersfield and Modesto College and six top-10 marks in program history were recorded. Junior Travis Martin and sophomore Rory Devaney stole the show at the meet, recording the exact same mark (216 feet, 6 inches) in the men's hammer throw to set a new school record in the event. Sophomore Corban Payne recorded the fourth best mark in school history in the men's shot put (59-0.25), sophomore MacGregor TeSelle ran the sixth-fastest men's 200-meter time (20.84 seconds) in program history, and in the women's pole vault, sophomore Lexi Evans climbed to No. 3 on the all-time list (13-7.25) while freshman Logan Hays moved into a tie for ninth all-time with a personal best (12-11.5).
Following this weekend's action in the Bay Area, Cal Poly's throwers will travel to La Jolla to take part in the Triton Invitational on April 5-6 hosted by UC San Diego.
