
Cal Poly Women’s Golf Finishes Third, Dimayuga Fourth at Causeway Invitational

SACRAMENTO — Playing its first official tournament of the spring, Cal Poly women's golf put together a strong showing, finishing third out of 12 teams at the Causeway Invitational Tuesday at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento.Kamille Dimayuga was tied for fourth after finishing at three over par. She shot rounds of 74 and 71 Monday and 74 in the final round Tuesday on the par 72 course. She led the entire field on Par 4's at -1 with an average score of 3.96.
"Kamille played steady, consistent golf," second year Mustang head coach Courtney Roberts said. "She led the field in par 4 scoring and managed her game incredibly well. She is a fighter. Del Paso is a championship golf course and her game stood up to the test." Senior Nicole Neale placed tied for 11th at six over par after rounds of 72, 72, and 78. Redshirt junior Jensen Jalufka was right behind her at seven over, which saw her place tied for 14th after she shot rounds of 73, 76, and 74. As a team, Cal Poly finished the tournament with a 24 over par 888. The Mustangs were the second-best team on par 5's and had the third most birdies amongst all teams.
"I am really proud of how the team played this week, Roberts added. "It was a total team effort. We didn't play as well as we would have liked in the final round, but there are still a lot of great takeaways as we prepare for our next event." The Mustangs finished 10 shots back of first place Sacramento State and five shots behind second place UC Davis. Cal Poly's next tournament is the Tulane Classic at English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans March 10-12. Individually, the Mustangs had three players finish in top 15. Junior
