SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly women’s golf team continues to set the standard for excellence both on the course and in the classroom. This week, four Mustangs — Nicole Koong, Sara Torres, Jensen Jalufka, and Sarah Yoo — were named to the prestigious Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team for their outstanding academic achievements.
Earning a spot on the WGCA All-American Scholar Team is among the highest academic honors in collegiate athletics. Honorees must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, be an amateur and active team member through the end of the season, and compete in at least 50 percent of their team's rounds.
With four selections, Cal Poly ties its program record for the most WGCA All-American Scholars in a single season — a testament to the team’s unwavering commitment to academic success.
The women’s golf program remains a leader within Cal Poly Athletics for academic excellence, consistently posting one of the highest team GPAs department-wide.
