UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — The Cal Poly women's golf team closed out the Leadership and Golf Invitational with a 13th-place team finish Tuesday at Chambers Bay GC, highlighted by a top-20 individual showing from Maddy Saysanasongkham.
The Mustangs posted a three-round total of 39-over par (291-304-303--903) across the 54-hole event.
Saysanasongkham led the way for Cal Poly, tying for 17th at 4-over par (73-74-73--220). The finish marked one of the strongest individual performances of her career and sat around the top of the leaderboard throughout the tournament.
She opened with a 1-over 73, carded a 2-over 74 in the second round, and closed with another 73, one of a handful of Mustang rounds at 1-over or better on the week.
Freshman Lexi Lowe was the second Mustang on the leaderboard, tying for 50th at 12-over par (72-76-80--228). Lowe opened the tournament with an even-par 72, the best single round by a Cal Poly player in the first round, before running into trouble over the final 36 holes.
Sara Torres finished tied for 67th at 14-over par (75-75-80--230), while the team’s other first year Ashley Gettleman tied for 69th at 15-over par (78-79-74--231).
Alex Flier rounded out the Cal Poly scoring, tying for 79th at 17-over par (76-81-76--233).
The Mustangs return to action later this fall as they continue their 2026-27 campaign with the Connell Resources Ram Classic (formerly Ptarmigan Ram Classic) in Fort Collins, Colo. from Sept. 21-22.
