FRISCO, Texas — The 2025-26 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was announced today with 1,551 women’s collegiate golfers honored, including three Mustangs.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:
- Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
- Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
- Have played in 50% of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
A trio of Mustangs were among the honorees: freshman Alex Flier, sophomore Sara Torres, and junior Sarah Yoo. Torres and Yoo were also named to the Big West Spring All-Academic Team last month. With their inclusion in this year’s WGCA All-American Scholar Team, Yoo is a three-time honoree and Torres has earned the accolade twice.
Third-year Mustang Sarah Yoo received an automatic All-Big West Honorable Mention, the second of her career, after placing in the top five of this season’s Big West Championship, per the conference’s bylaws. Yoo led the charge individually for Cal Poly in the Big West Championship, finishing in solo fourth place just one stroke off her career low.
True freshman Alex Flier finished the season as the team’s fifth-best scorer. Her best golf and breakout moment as a Mustang came in the Big West Championship as she tied for 14th, her highest career placement, while totaling two par-or-under rounds on the season.
