SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly women’s tennis team wrapped up its fall season this weekend by hosting a fall tournament for the first time ever.
The Mustangs welcomed players from Sacramento State and Fresno State to the Ronca Tennis Center this past Friday through Sunday to take part in the Cal Poly Invitational.
Cal Poly had several standout performances during the three-day flighted round robin tournament. Overall, the Mustangs went 15-9 in singles play and 7-3 in doubles during the tournament.
Of the nine players that took the court for the Mustangs, three went a perfect 3-0 in singles play — senior Romane Mosse, junior Alexandra Ozerets and sophomore Natalie Lynch. Mosse and Lynch were dominant in their victories, winning all of their matches in straight sets and not dropping a single set.
Junior Sarah MacCallum also went 2-1 in singles, winning four of seven sets she played. During the tourney, redshirt sophomore Amy Leather played in her first singles match as a Mustang in over a year after medically redshirting this past spring season due to injury. She won two of the four sets she played.

Junior Kennedy Buntrock went 2-0 in doubles, winning 6-4 with Shekhera on Saturday and 6-3 with Mosse on the final day.

With the fall season over, the 2024 Big West champions will now begin preparing for their 2025 spring season which starts Jan. 10-12 with the Cal Winter Invite.
