Berry Keeps Win Streak Going But Mustangs Fall to Santa Clara Saturday

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Junior Noah Berry kept his singles winning streak going but the Cal Poly men's tennis team fell at home to Santa Clara Saturday, 6-1.
The Mustangs (3-5) came up just short of winning the doubles point. Cal Poly's No. 2 duo of redshirt junior Joe Leather and sophomore Bastiaan Weststrate won their match 6-1. Unfortunately, the Broncos won at the No. 3 and No. 1 spots to take the doubles point.
In singles, Santa Clara got wins at the No. 4, 6 and 2 spots to seal the dual match victory.
However, Noah Berry, ranked No. 64 in the nation, moved to 6-0 this year in singles after he won his match at the No. 1 spot 6-4, 7-5.
After having to cancel their match Sunday against Nevada due to the incoming weather to the Central Coast, the Mustangs will be back in action Friday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. against UNLV at Mustang Tennis Complex.
