Cal Poly Softball Announces 47-Game Schedule for 2024

VIEW COMPLETE 2024 SCHEDULE
SAN LUIS OBISPO – Celebrating its 50th varsity season in 2024, the Cal Poly softball program released its 47-game schedule for the upcoming year on Wednesday afternoon.
Returning all three All-Big West selections from last spring, starters at all 10 positions and 18 letterwinners, Cal Poly's 2024 schedule features nine games against NCAA Tournament qualifiers from a year ago – including a Feb. 23 matchup with 2023 Women's College World Series participant Utah.
Cal Poly opens the 2024 regular season at the Feb. 9-11 NorCal Kickoff, co-hosted by Sacramento State and UC Davis. Following the Friday, Feb. 9 season-opening doubleheader against San Jose State (27-30, 2023) and Sacramento State (27-20), Cal Poly faces 2023 NCAA Tournament qualifier and defending Conference USA champion Middle Tennessee (42-20) on Saturday, Feb. 10 before closing the event with two games versus Saint Mary's (20-29).
Cal Poly's five-game stretch at the Feb. 16-18 Silicon Valley Classic comprises two more matchups against co-host San Jose State, two versus Seattle (36-20) and a Saturday, Feb. 17 visit to the tournament's other host, Santa Clara (23-26).
The Mustangs open the Feb. 23-25 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Cathedral City, Calif.) with a Friday doubleheader versus a pair of 2023 NCAA Tournament qualifiers – California (35-21), Norman Regional runner-up to eventual national champion Oklahoma, and Utah (42-16), which reached its first Women's College World Series in 29 years last May. Action in the desert continues on Saturday, Feb. 24 against 2023 WCC runner-up BYU (35-17) and Rutgers (32-25) before the Mustangs close play on Sunday, Feb. 25 with Fresno State (23-31).
Cal Poly's final non-conference tournament comes at California Baptist's March 1-3 Lancers Invite with two matchups against the hosts, two versus 2023 Big Sky Conference Tournament runner-up Idaho State (20-28) and – on Saturday, March 2 – just a third all-time matchup with St. Johns (23-29).
Cal Poly starts its 27th Big West campaign with a March 16-17 series at CSUN (28-24) before enjoying its lengthiest home stretch – six games – when welcoming UC Riverside (25-28) March 23-24 and UC Santa Barbara (26-22) March 29-30.
The Mustangs play their only scheduled games outside of California and the Pacific Time Zone when visiting Hawai'i (30-23) April 5-6.
Cal Poly's return to the continent comes at Cal State Bakersfield (7-43) April 13-14 before the Mustangs welcome defending Big West champion Long Beach State (31-23) for an April 20-21 series.
After visiting Cal State Fullerton (34-21) – the Big West's remaining NCAA Tournament participant from a year ago – for an April 27-28 series, Cal Poly closes the regular season by hosting UC Davis (29-22) May 4-5 before heading to UC San Diego (19-33) for the May 10-11 finale.
