Stockham Earns Third Big West Offensive Player of the Week Honor of 2023

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — After two stellar performances last week propelling the Cal Poly volleyball team to a pair of wins, redshirt junior outside hitter Tommi Stockham was named Big West Offensive Player of the Week.
Stockham averaged 5.00 kills per set in the Mustangs' two matches last week as she helped lead them to two big wins over UC San Diego and Long Beach State.
Against UC San Diego, she finished with a match-high 23 kills, nine digs, and four aces Cal Poly won 3-1. Then the next night against second-place Long Beach State, she had 17 kills and three digs as she led the Mustangs to a 3-1 comeback victory over the Beach.
This is Stockham's third Big West Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season. She now ranks fifth in the Big West in kills at 3.27 per set. She leads the conference in service aces with 46 on the year.
With the Mustangs beating Long Beach State on Saturday, that moved them into a three-way tie for second place in the Big West standings heading into the final weekend of regular season play. Cal Poly hosts UC Riverside Friday at 7 p.m. followed by UC Davis Saturday at 8 p.m.
