Cal Poly Drops Road Match to University of San Francisco Saturday

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Playing its first of two road matches this weekend, the Cal Poly women's tennis team fell Saturday to San Francisco, 4-2.
The Dons took the doubles point after wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. However, the Mustangs' (5-4) No. 1 duo of redshirt juniors Emily Ackerman and Kim Bhunu did pick up a 6-1 win together. They are now a team-best 7-4 this season.
In singles, Ackerman won her match at the No. 4 spot over Caragh Courtney, 7-5, 6-3 to even up the match 1-1.
However, San Francisco won consecutive matches at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots to take a 3-1 lead.
Bhunu won her match at the No. 1 spot over Maria Vaquero in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 to improve her record to 6-5 this year.
USF then clinched the match with a win at the No. 5 spot to secure the 4-2 victory.
Cal Poly will face Pacific Sunday at 11 a.m.
