MISSOULA, Mont. -- Montana quarterback Lucas Johnson, returning from a one-game absence, passed for three touchdowns and ran for another as the Grizzlies accumulated nearly 700 yards in total offense en route to a 57-0 victory over Cal Poly in a Big Sky Conference football game on a snowy Saturday night in Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
Johnson completed 17 of 29 passes for 262 yards, including scoring strikes of 15 yards to Mitch Roberts, 20 yards to Xavier Harris and 22 yards to Riley Simpson, as Montana, which garnered 695 yards of offense, snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 6-3 overall and 3-3 in Big Sky games.

Nick Ostmo rushed for 221 yards on 26 carries and Isiah Childs added 70 yards on eight trips, each scoring a pair of touchdowns for Montana, which broke a school record with 37 first downs.
The Mustangs, who had 12 first downs, drove into Montana territory four times, but turned the ball over on downs three times and punted once. Deepest Cal Poly penetration into Griz territory was to the 18-yard line in the third quarter.
Mustang quarterback Spencer Brasch, who has four 300-plus yard passing games this season, completed 18 of 40 passes for 150 yards against Montana, including a 28-yard strike to Chris Coleman in the first half. Brasch was sacked three times.
Zedakiah Centers caught five passes for 46 yards while Coleman added four receptions for 49 yards. Shakobe Harper was Cal Poly's top rusher with 34 yards ono 11 carries.
Mason Rivera led Cal Poly defensively with 10 tackles while Laipeli Palu and Zach Hernandez each added nine. Jamarri Jackson notched his first career interception as a Mustang and Jay'Vion Cole added two pass breakups.
Cal Poly was shut out for the first time since the 2017 season finale and for only the second time in 262 contests dating back to 1998. The Mustangs punted nine times while Montana never punted. The Grizzlies were 14 of 19 in third-down conversions.
The Mustangs play their final two games of the year at home, hosting Montana State next Saturday and Portland State on Nov. 19. Montana State remained tied with Sacramento State for first place in the Big Sky, each 6-0, with a 41-38 win at Northern Arizona on a 24-yard field goal by Blake Glessner as time ran out.
