Dvoracek, Bullis Take Home Big West Weekly Honors

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — After putting together stellar performances to help the Cal Poly volleyball team win both its matches last week, senior right side hitter Maia Dvoracek was named Big West Offensive Player of the Week and redshirt freshman setter Emme Bullis was named Big West Setter of the Week. This is the second Offensive Player of the Week award this season for Dvoracek and the fourth Setter of the Week award for Bullis. Bullis has also won Big West Freshman of the Week once. Last week, Dvoracek averaged 4.38 kills per set, hitting .301, as well as 3.25 digs per set and added eight service aces while recording a double-double in both matches. In a five-set win over UC Davis, she finished with a season-high 22 kills, 14 digs, four aces, and four blocks. Then in a sweep of UC Riverside, she led the way with 13 kills, 12 digs, and four aces. Dvoracek is now tied for fourth in the Big West in kills per set at 3.64 and 10th in digs per set at 3.30. She's recorded double-doubles in 18 matches this season, including in each of the last six. Bullis averaged 12.25 assists per set and 2.63 digs per set while directing the offense to a .314 hitting percentage for the week. Against UC Davis, she finished with career-highs of 62 assists and 16 digs for her 12th double-double of the season. Then against UC Riverside, she posted 36 assists, five digs, two kills, and a block. Bullis ranks third in the Big West so far this season at 10.10 per set and has the Cal Poly offense third in the Big West in hitting percentage at .235. Cal Poly hosts CSU Bakersfield at Mott Athletics Center Tuesday at 6 p.m. before heading to Honolulu to face conference leader Hawai'i Friday at 10 p.m. PT.
