Dunkle Sisters Each Collect Wins at Day Two of Cal Winter Invite

BERKELEY, Calif. — Redshirt sophomore Delanie Dunkle and freshman Peyton Dunkle each picked up singles wins to highlight the Cal Poly women's tennis team during the second day of competition at the Cal Winter Invite.

Delanie Dunkle took down Saint Mary's' Gabriela Tevez in straight sets 7-6 (0), 6-4 for her first win of the 2022 season.

Peyton Dunkle, who won her first career singles match Friday, beat Oliva Rook of Saint Mary's 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-4.

Elsewhere, redshirt junior Kim Bhunu took the Gaels' Mariia Kozyreva, who is ranked No. 74 in the country, to three sets before falling in the third 6-2.

Graduate transfer Laura Bente also went to three sets in her singles match against Jordan Harris of Saint Mary's, falling 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (3).
