Mustang Blank Sacramento State 7-0 on the Road Saturday

SACRAMENTO — The Cal Poly women's tennis team kept its unbeaten season going after sweeping Sacramento State on the road Saturday 7-0.
The Mustangs (4-0), kept their streak of winning doubles points in all of their matches so far this year going against the Hornets (0-6). The No. 3 pairing of redshirt freshman Dominique Stone and redshirt junior MacKenzie Worsnop got things started with an impressive 6-1 win to push their record together this year to 4-0. The No. 2 Cal Poly duo of redshirt freshmen Delanie Dunkle and Melissa LaMette then clinched the doubles with a 6-4 win to improve their record this season to 2-2.
In singles, Stone got the first victory in quick fashion, taking her match in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. With the win, she improves her singles record to 3-1 this season.
Redshirt sophomore Emily Ackerman won her match a short time later also in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 5 spot to keep her record a perfect 4-0 this year.
LaMette then followed with a 6-2, 6-4 win from the No. 4 position in the lineup to also improve to 4-0 this season remain unbeaten in singles in her Mustang career at 12-0.
Freshman Shreya Ravilla (pictured) won the second match of her Mustang career Saturday with a 6-4, 6-3 victory playing at the No. 6 spot.
Redshirt sophomore Kim Bhunu then won her match at the No. 2 spot in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3 to stay undefeated at 4-0.
Dunkle also remains unbeaten this season in singles at 4-0 after getting a three-set win at the No. 4 position. She won it in comeback fashion 6-7 (3), 6-1, 10-7 to seal the 7-0 victory for the Mustangs.
Cal Poly will be back in action Sunday when it visits Big West foe UC Davis in its first conference match of the season at 11 a.m.
