FORT COLLINS, Colorado -- Coming off its 11th tournament victory under seventh-year head coach Sofie Aagaard, the Cal Poly women's golf team is fourth late in the second round of the Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Monday.
Though all five Mustang golfers completed their second round, about half the field were not able to finish due to darkness. All had one to three holes to complete, which will be done Tuesday at 9 a.m. MDT followed by the final round at the Ptarmigan Country Club.
Cal Poly posted four-person totals of 292 and 293 on the 6,468-yard, par-72 course for a nine-over-par 585 total. Nevada leads the way with a three-under-par 573 total, four shots ahead of host Colorado State. Incarnate Word is third at five over par but had golfers still on the course when play was suspended.
Cal Poly's best score Monday was carded by Nicole Neale with rounds of 72 and 74 for a two-over-par 146 total and a tie for 11th place. Kaylyn Noh, Kamille Dimayuga and Caroline Cantlay all are tied for 16th place with 147 totals while Jensen Jalufka is tied for 28th place after rounds of 74 and 75.
Anitra Khoth of Nevada leads all individual golfers with a five-under-par 139 total following a 71 and 68. She is one stroke ahead of teammate Victoria Gailey and Ellen Nicholas of Incarnate Word.
