Cal Poly Women's Tennis Falls to Nevada Saturday, 4-1

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Playing the first of its two-match weekend home stand, the Cal Poly women's tennis team fell Saturday to Nevada, 4-1.

The Wolf Pack (7-5) started by winning the doubles point in a close contest. After Nevada won at No. 3 doubles, The Mustangs' (5-7, 1-2 BWC) No. 2 pairing of sophomore Grace Olyphant and junior Susanne Boyden won, 6-4. The duo is now 5-1 this season together. The Wolf Pack then clinched the point with a 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.

Sophomore MacKenzie Worsnop (pictured) started singles play by tying the score at 1-1 after a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 3 position. With the win, she improves her singles record to 4-4.

Nevada then took the next three singles matches to clinch the 4-1 victory.

Cal Poly returns to Big West play Sunday to finish the weekend home stand. The Mustangs will host the Matadors at 11 a.m. from Mustang Tennis Complex.
