SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. ─ The Utah Valley women's soccer team scored back-to-back goals in the 82nd and 85th minutes on Sunday night at Alex G. Spanos Stadium, earning a 3-2 comeback win at Cal Poly.

The Mustangs scored first in the 15th minute, when senior defender Chelsea Barry chipped 35 yards ahead to sophomore forward Georgina Stiegeler. Although Wolverine goalkeeper Sarah Davis impeded Stiegeler's forward path and dove to get a hand on the ball, Cal Poly's 2017 Big West All-Freshman Team honoree recovered possession and proceeded to score into the back of the net from a few yards away on the left side of the box.

The goal was Stiegeler's fourth over the past two years, while the assist was the 10th of Barry's career, moving into a tie for No. 15 in school history for assists.

Utah Valley, however, would equalize 18 minutes later. Megan Sullivan initiated the tying sequence by lobbing a pass up to Breanna McCarter, who headed over to Amber Tripp. Tripp converted far-post from close range, beating the keeper from the right.

Cal Poly moved back in front in the 52nd minute thanks to a combination between a freshman duo, as Clare Murphy played a ball out wide to Brooke Rubinstein for a go-ahead strike from the right edge of the box over the reach of Davis.

Then with the Mustangs leading 2-1 more than 80 minutes in, UVU drew level once more, as Sadie Brockbank slid a feed over to the left side for McCarter, who blasted a right-footed tying shot into the back of the goal from 12 yards out.

The Wolverines (1-3-1), defending WAC Tournament champions, then found the go-ahead goal almost three minutes later, as Whitney Paskins pounced on a turnover in the Mustang back line. Paskins made one quick move to her left to find an open look following the takeaway, before shooting into the top-left corner of the goal from just above the penalty spot, securing the game-winner.

Utah Valley finished with a 16-12 advantage in total shots for the night, while the Mustangs held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks on the evening.

Sophia Brown made six saves for Cal Poly (0-3-2), while Davis stopped four Mustang attempts placed on frame.

Cal Poly will now start a five-game road swing beginning in the Pacific Northwest, as the Mustangs visit Gonzaga at 7 p.m. Friday, before heading to Seattle U for a 1 p.m. kickoff Sunday, Sept. 9.
