
Mustangs Men's Tennis Defeats University of San Francisco at Home 6-1

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal Poly men's tennis defeated the University of San Francisco at home 6-1 on Sunday. This win makes Cal Poly 6-3 overall and 3-0 at home.
The dual match started off with doubles at 12:00 p.m. at Mustang Courts. Cal Poly won the doubles point giving the Mustangs a 1-0 start.
Senior Karl Enander and junior Dominic Bechard defeated Oliver Poysti and Lucas Mainelli 6-4.
Freshmen Roman Shenkiyrk and Andrew Whitehouse lost to Mert Zincirli and Johan Joenhagen 6-3.
Senior Axel Damiens and junior Josh Ortlip secured the doubles point for Cal Poly defeating Ryan Marker and Paul Giraud 6-3.
In singles, Cal Poly won with authority winning five out of six matches.
Bechard quickly defeated Joenhagen 6-4, 6-0.
Whitehouse finished next, defeating Marlo Barretto 6-2, 1-6, 6-4.
Freshman Alex Stater then defeated Giraud 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
Sophomore Antoine Noel came back from a 1-0 deficit and defeated Marker 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Poysti defeated Damiens for San Francisco's first point of the day 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.
Ortlip finished the match in the one spot defeating Zincirli 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5).
The Mustangs return to action Friday, Feb. 23 for a dual match at against Loyola Marymount at 2:00 p.m. at the LMU Tennis Center. They will also play against Nevada at LMU on Saturday.
The Mustangs start a six dual match homestand on March 4 against Santa Clara.
