
Cal Poly Men's Tennis Sweeps Sacramento State 7-0

SACRAMENTO – Men's tennis only lost one doubles match but retained all 7 points to sweep Sacramento State in a dual non-conference match today at the Sacramento State Courts.
In doubles, Junior Josh Ortlip and senior Axel Damiens defeated Hermont Legaspi and Bernardo Moreas easily 6-1. The duo is 2-0 in doubles matches this season, winning against Pacific yesterday.
Sacramento State won their only match of the day in doubles - Kasparas Zemaitelis and Mikas Losbergs defeated freshmen Andrew Whitehouse and Roman Shenkiryk 6-3.
Senior Karl Enander and sophomore Antoine Noel clinched the doubles point for the Mustangs defeating Dom Miller and Donald Hall 6-3. The Mustangs have not lost a doubles point yet this season.
The Mustangs dominated in singles, sweeping the Hornets 6-0.
There are four Mustangs undefeated in singles this season: Josh Ortlip, Roman Shenkiryk, Alexander Stater and Antoine Noel.
Josh Ortlip defeated Mikas Losbergs easily 6-1 and 6-3. He is undefeated in singles, dropping only one set yesterday at Pacific.
Antoine Noel defeated Kasparas Zemaitelis in two sets 6-4 and 6-1.
Axel Damiens also defeated Hermont Legaspi easily 6-3 and 6-1.
Three matches went to three sets including Alexander Stater versus Donald Hall. Stater won the match 4-6, 7-5, 10-6.
Andrew Whitehouse managed a comeback against Bernardo Moraes defeating him 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Roman Shenkiyrk played the longest match of the day defeating Louis Chabut 3-6, 6-3, 12-10.
The Mustangs return home for the week and will travel to Texas A&M next weekend to compete in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. They will play No. 12 Texas A&M, No. 42 Georgia State and LSU. Match times are TBA.
