
Cal Poly Men's Tennis Picks Up Second Win of the Week

SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Cal Poly men's tennis team picked up its second win of the week, as they beat Middle Tennessee 5-2 Wednesday afternoon at Mustang Courts.
The Mustangs set the tone for the match after the doubles tandem of Ben Donovan and Corey Pang beat Tom Moonen and Gonzalo Morell Raschiatore on court one 6-4. Cal Poly took the doubles point after Karl Enander and Tim Tan beat Gian Issa and Miguel Negre Fernandez on court two 6-3.
Up 1-0 heading into singles play, Pang put another point on the board for the Mustangs, as he beat Moonen 6-2, 6-2 on court one, while Josh Ortlip beat Morillo Diaz 6-1, 6-4 on court four, giving Cal Poly a 3-0 lead.
Garrett Auproux fell to Negre Fernandez 6-3, 6-2 on court three, putting Middle Tennessee's first point on the board.
Axel Damiens beat Max Rauch 6-4, 6-4 on court six, clinching the match for Cal Poly.
Donovan picked up another win for the Mustangs on court two, as he beat Raschiatore 6-1, 7-5.
Antoine Noel pushed Issa to three sets, but fell short 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 on court six.
The Mustangs' win advances them to 9-5 on the season. Cal Poly will hit the road to take on University of Arizona in Denver, Colo. on March 11 and will be back on the courts to take on Denver on Sunday.
