
Mustang Men's Tennis Defeats Arizona 5-2

DENVER, Colo. — The Cal Poly men's tennis team won its third match of the week and first of the weekend, as they beat Arizona 5-2 in Denver, Colo., Saturday afternoon.
Cal Poly started doubles play off on a strong note, as the doubles tandem of Corey Pang and Ben Donovan picked up a quick 6-0 win against Will Adkisson and Shoti Meparidze on court one.
Karl Enander and Tim Tan beat Trent Botha and Oliver Plaskett 6-4 on court two, giving Cal Poly the doubles point.
Up 1-0, the Mustangs kept the momentum going in singles play. Garrett Auproux put the first singles point on the board, as he beat Alejandro Reguant on court four 6-2, 6-2.
Josh Ortlip was defeated by Trent Botha on court three 6-4, 6-2, giving the Wildcats their first point.
Pang picked up a win against Will Kneale on court two 6-2, 6-4, while Donovan picked up a win against Meparidze on court one 7-6(6), 6-0, clinching the match for the Mustangs.
Antoine Noel took on Shoki Kasahara on court five and fell after pushing his second set to a tiebreaker, 6-4, 7-6(5), making it 4-2.
Axel Damiens finished the match off on a strong note, as he beat Plaskett on court six in a three set match 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
The Mustangs are now 10-5 on the season and will continue play tomorrow as they take on Denver at 11 a.m.
