
Long Beach State Defeats Cal Poly in Big West Action

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – For the first time in over a month, the Cal Poly women's tennis team contested a home match, falling to 67th-ranked Long Beach State, 7-0 on Friday afternoon at Mustang Courts. Cal Poly senior Bryn Bacharach (pictured) was able to push her matchup to a third set before losing to Julie Gerard from the third position, 4-6, 6-0 and 6-1.
Long Beach State secured the doubles point after the No. 1 tandem of Laura Eales and Hayley Thompson defeated Bryn Bacharach and Zoe Oedekerk, 6-3.
The 49ers continued to put pressure on the Mustangs in singles, capturing all six matchups in the sweep triumph. Cal Poly sophomore Molly Reed saw her three match winning streak from the sixth position snapped after a straight set, 6-3 and 6-4 decision to Georgie Sanders.
