
Martin and Price Lead Cal Poly to Fourth Place in Nick Watney Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. – Led by Mitch Martin and Cam Price, the Cal Poly men's golf team is in fourth place after 36 holes of play in the Nick Watney Invitational hosted by Fresno State on Monday at the Sunnyside Country Club.
Martin fired rounds of 70 and 69 on the 6,950-yard, par-72 course and is tied for fourth place with his five-under-par 139 total while Price (pictured at right) is tied for 11th place after carding a 72 and 71 for a one-under-par 143 aggregate.
Final round will be played Tuesday morning.
Cal Poly compiled a four-person 36-hole 575 total, tied for fourth place with Cal State Northridge. The Mustangs posted rounds of 293 and 282.
Pacific leads with a 551 total, followed by Fresno State at 568 and UC Irvine at 571.
Individual leader after two rounds of play is Byron Meth of Pacific with a 70 and 65 for a nine-under-par 135 total. He leads Steven Molumby of Cal State Northridge (70-67) by two strokes, with SeungJae Maeng of Pacific (69-69) in third place.
Pacific has four golfers in the top 10 of the 10-school event.
In addition to Martin and Price, Cal Poly's other scoring golfers were Jimmy Castles with rounds of 77 and 69 for a 146 total and 26th place; Jesse Yap with a 74 and 73 for a 147 total and 31st place; and Justin De Los Santos with a 79 and 73 for a 152 total and 52nd place.
