2016-17 -- Won three matches while competing in three tournaments and a trio of dual meets ... pinned Brandon Betancourt in 2:40 at Roadrunner Open ... earned 16-5 major decision against Kegan Calkins of Oregon State to finish fifth in Pac-12 Championship ... other win was a 10-8 sudden victory decision against Sean Williams in season-opening match at Roadrunner Open.

High School -- Staley is a three-time Florida state meet placewinner with a state championship at 113 pounds as a junior, capping a 42-4 season with 25 falls, a fifth-place finish as a senior at 120 en route to a 43-6 record, and a fourth-place finish at 106 pounds as a sophomore when he was 46-6 with 29 falls … the Winter Springs High School graduate also is a two-time Seminole Athletic Conference champion and has earned a pair of Florida High School Athletic Association regional titles as well as one second-place finish … was 14-7 with eight falls as a freshman and finished his prep career with a 145-23 career mark, including 83 falls … captured the 2013 Junior Greco-Roman national championship in Fargo, N.D., and is a four-time Fargo All-American … was named Bright House Network wrestler of the year, three times made the principal's honor roll and member of National Honors Society … recruited by Duke, Virginia, Arizona State and Hofstra, Staley chose Cal Poly because of "its wrestling coaches, environment and location."
