Ellie Edles is in her second year with the Cal Poly women's tennis program. She was promoted from assistant coach to associate head coach in January of 2020. This is Ellie's second stint with the Mustangs women's tennis program. She was previously an assistant coach during the 2013-2014 season.
Edles played tennis at UC Davis from 2009-2013 where she was a team captain and three-time Most Inspirational Player. Since her playing career ended, she has coached at multiple institutions.
After coaching at Cal Poly, Edles was the assistant coach at Division III Middlebury College. There, she helped coach women's tennis team to the semifinals of the Division III NCAA Tournament and a No. 3 national ranking.
From there she went on to become an assistant coach at Cal State Fullerton from 2016-2018. While at Fullerton, she helped the head coach in daily operations including practice, mental training and conditioning. She also assisted in scouting, organizing travel arrangements and developing youth clinics.
In addition to college coaching, Edles has also worked as a teaching pro at the San Luis Obispo Country Club, Rolling Hills Country Club in Connecticut and Matchpoint Tennis Academy in Santa Ana.
Edles received her Bachelor's Degree from UC Davis and received her Masters Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University, Irvine.
