High School—Lia attended Evergreen Valley High School in San Jose, CA where competed in both water polo and track. She lettered in track all four years of high school and is the 300 hurdle high school record holder. She was also part of the 4x100 team CCS Champions in 2009.
Personal—Lia is majoring in anthropology/geography and wants to be a journalist for National Geographic. She enjoys playing guitar, going to the beach and hanging out with friends. She says her parents have been the biggest influence on her as an athlete because they have always encouraged her to have fun with the challenges that playing competitive sports present.
