High School—Erik attended Adolfo Camarillo High School in Camarillo, CA. In high school, Erik ran both cross country and track. Erik was the Ventura County Champ in the 1600m and League Champ in both the 1600m and the 800m.
Personal—Erik is majoring in civil engineering and wants to build bridges. He has five brothers and sisters. Erik enjoys piano, adventuring and eating pizza. He says he has been influenced as an athlete by runners like Dave Waddle, Sebastian Coe and Bernard Lagat because they give him something to strive for.
