XC: Helped the men’s team to its 12^th Big West Conference title with a 10^th place finish (25:35) at the BWC… Opened the season with a 4^th (25:16) at the Lagoon Open, followed by a 23^rd place finish (25:31) at the Pac-12 Preview… Posted a time of 24:55 (19^th) at the Stanford Invite and 68^th (24:07) at the Wisconsin meet… Rounded out cross country season with a 17^th (30:10) place finish at the NCAA West Regional…

2011-12-- Track: Ran a team-best 14:17.25 in the 5000m on 4/6/12 at the Stanford Invite… and was second on the team in the 1500 with a time of 3:47.55 on 3/24/12 (Cal Poly Invite)… Competed in eight meets including the BWC champs in two events, 5000 and 1500…. Posted a time of 14:57.57 in the 5000 and 3:47.59 in the prelims…

XC: Advanced to the NCAA’s and finished 94^th (second Mustang) with a time of 30:58 as the team finished 28^th… He was 4^th at the BWC with a time of 23:58 and 19^th at West Regional (29:56) when the team finished 3^rd… at Santa Clara Invite he was 4^th with a time of 23:53 with the team finishing second with 77 pts.

Transfer from El Comino College:
Recorded best marks of 1:53.62 in the 800 in 2010…. In 2011 in the 1500 (3:47.52), 5000 (14:13.07 and 3000 m steeplechase (9:12.66)… Won the state JC titles in the 5000, 1500 and cross country…

Personal: Born Aug, 2, 1991… Son of Armando and Mayra Cardona… Majors in sociology at Cal Poly… His father has been the biggest influence on him as a runner, he tells him to persevere and do everything with heart.
