2013 -- Redshirt ... will switch to theoffensive line and back up Matt Fisher and Sam Kenney at lefttackle this fall ... played in 2014 Spring Game and made twotackles on the defensive line.
High School -- A graduate of Woodbridge HighSchool in Irvine, the same school that produced former Mustangdefensive line standout James Chen, Rusick recorded 58 totaltackles (39 solo), including seven sacks, as a senior under headcoach Rick Gibson. Rusick also recovered one fumble, caused twoothers and blocked a field goal attempt. His season high was 15tackles in a playoff loss to Corona del Mar. He also was a tightend on offense, catching 16 passes for 311 yards and fourtouchdowns. Rusick earned first-team All-Irvine City, All-PacificCoast League and All-CIF-Southern Section Southern Division honors.He led the Warriors to a 7-6 record, second-place tie in thePacific Coast League and a spot in the semifinal round of theCIF-Southern Section Southern Division playoffs. Rusick made 15tackles, including two sacks, as a junior, and earned all-leaguehonors on the offensive line. Recruited by San Diego, Nevada andMontana State, Rusick chose Cal Poly because it "stood outacademically above the other schools I was considering as well astheir football program in general. I also really like the coachesand the players than I had an opportunity to meet. I really feltthat it was an overall good fit for me. San Luis Obispo is anamazing place. I'm really excited to attend school there." Rusickalso lettered four times in lacrosse and was a wrestler as afreshman and sophomore.
