Quote from Mustang head coach Tim Walsh: "Ryan signed a baseball scholarship out of high school to Pacific. We had recruited him, but he decided at that time baseball was his deal. It didn't take him long to figure out how much he missed football and, after one year, transferred to American River College, yearly in the battle for the state community college championship. He made an immediate impact this year, not only for ARC but for us as well, as we saw his abilities fitting a need at our S-Back slot position. He can block, run, catch and brings a toughness we definitely need in our program on offense. Ryan has great leadership abilities as well. He will compete to start immediately this fall."
Personal -- Son of Steve and Candace Robards ... one brother, Russell, and one sister, Natali, who plays soccer at Sacramento State ... born in Elk Grove, Calif. ... majoring in business administration with a concentration in accounting.
