Community College -- Montgomery recorded 112 tackles, including two sacks and seven tackles for lost yardage, as a sophomore during the 2015 season at Butte College ... also notched two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception en route to first-team All-NorCal Conference National Division honors ... produced double-digit tackles in six of his team's 11 games, including a career-high 17 against City College of San Francisco ... also made 70 tackles as a freshman in 2014 along with one sack, one interception and two fumble recoveries ... 33 of his tackles were in the final three games of the season, including 13 against American River College ... High School -- At Ashland (Oregon) High School, Montgomery was a center and linebacker, earning the Grizzlies' 2013 Dave Kitchell Most Inspirational Award ... an all-state linebacker as a junior and senior and was named Midwestern League Defensive Player of the Year in both 2012 and 2013 ... earne all-region honors as a senior ... four-year varsity starter and led the team in tackles all four years ... holds school record for career tackles ... also excelled in wrestling at Ashland, earning the Oregon Class 5A state championship at 220 pounds as a senior, one year after claiming runner-up honors at 195 pounds ... four-year letter winner in wrestling and was 29-0 as a senior ... lettered in track and field as a sophomore ... four-time Honor Roll member with 3.56 grade-point average.
