In first season at Cal Poly started 10 of 11 games at the C-Back position (slotback) ... tops the depth chart at the same position in his final college season ... named to College Football Performers Awards watch list at both running back and kick returner ... also selected on Phil Steele’s Preseason All-Great West Conference first team as a kick returner and to the second team as a running back.
2010 -- A stellar first season at Cal Poly with 882 yards rushing and 20 catches en route to first-team All-Great West and third-team Associated Press All-America honors ... scored eight touchdowns on the ground and averaged 6.9 yards per carry ... career-high 235 yards on just 15 carries and two touchdowns against North Dakota ... scored on 74-yard run against North Dakota ... also netted over 100 yards twice -- 105 yards on 14 trips in Mustang debut against Humboldt State and 102 yards on 17 carries in season finale against UC Davis ... in addition to South Dakota, also rushed twice for scores against McNeese State and North Dakota ... his 20 receptions were good for 208 yards and three touchdowns ... caught five passes for 66 yards against Southern Utah and made four grabs for 50 yards against Saint Francis (Pa.) ... completed his only pass attempt for seven yards against South Dakota ... finished 11th in the nation in kickoff return average with 27.4 yards on 33 returns for a school-record 904 yards .. was sixth in the nation in all-purpose yardage (168.9 yards per game) and 37th in rushing (80.2 yards per game) ... twice earned Great West offensive player of the week honors for his performances against Humboldt State and South Dakota ... in 2011 Spring Game ran one yard for a touchdown, hit Ryan Taylor with a 41-yard scoring pass on a halfback option and caught pair of passes ... competed on track and field team and ran opening leg on 4-by-100 relay team which finished second in Big West finals (40.66).
West Virginia -- Rodgers is a transfer from West Virginia and will have two years of eligibility remaining at Cal Poly. He has played in all 13 games each of the last two seasons with the Mountaineers as a running back and return specialists. Last fall, Rodgers returned 27 kickoffs an average of 22.9 yards per return with a long of 51 yards against Florida State and also rushed seven times for nine yards and caught one pass for four yards. As a freshman with the Mountaineers, Rodgers rushed 15 times for 80 yards with a long of 19 yards against Marshall and returned 22 kickoffs an average of 21.1 yards with a long of 44 yards against Connecticut.
High School -- A 2007 graduate of Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, Rodgers rushed for 4,819 yards and 50 touchdowns in his last two seasons. As a senior in 2006, Rodgers rushed for 2,319 yards and 19 scores while catching 12 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown. He rushed for 2,500 yards and 31 scores as a junior while also playing cornerback on defense. Twice Rodgers earned All-CIF-Southern Section and All-Los Angeles County League first-team honors. In addition, as a senior he was named Los Angeles County League player of the year and region co-player of the year. Rodgers also lettered in track and field and was the fourth-fastest runner in the state with a 10.5 time in the 100 meters.
