Community College -- Doton played one season at Southwestern College in Chula Vista in 2012, securing 35 tackles, including three sacks and 5.5 tackles for lost yardage in 11 games. He led Southwestern to a 10-1 record, first-place finish in the Southern California Football Association’s Mountain Conference and a victory over Santa Monica City College in the American Championship Bowl in Chula Vista. Doton, who earned first-team all-conference honors, recorded 11 tackles, including two sacks, against Victor Valley College.
San Diego State -- Utilized his redshirt year in 2011 before transferring to Southwestern ... enrolled for classes only and was not a member of the Aztecs' football team.
High School -- As a senior under head coach Anthony Lacsina at Otay Ranch High School in 2012, Doton compiled a league-leading 107 total tackles (81 solo), including five sacks and 12 tackles for lost yardage. The team captain also had a quarterback hurry, two pass deflections and three forced fumbles en route to first-team All-Metro-Mesa League honors. Doton caught two passes and both were for touchdowns. Otay Ranch was 7-5 overall, 3-1 for second place in the Metro-Mesa League and reached the quarterfinal round of the CIF-San Diego Section Division I playoffs ... selected to play in Spanos All-Star Game and also played in the So-Cal Poly Cultural Classic Bowl ... also lettered twice in baseball ... earned a spot on the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Team in 2009 and 2010 and was named Otay Ranch's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
