A backup on the defensive line as a redshirt freshman in 2009, Boaz sat out the 2010 season with a shoulder injury and is expected to back up the centers as a junior this fall.

2010 -- Did not play football due to shoulder injury ... competed in track and field in the spring of 2011, placing third in the Big West discus with a mark of 168-2, sixth in the shot put (51-2 3/4) and eighth in the hammer throw (168-11) ... season-best marks of 51-7 in shot put, 175-0 in discus and 168-11 in hammer.

2009 -- Played in three games as a redshirt freshman on the defensive line and recorded four tackles, including three (one sack) in the Dixie State contest ... one tackle for lost yardage in both the Dixie State and North Dakota games ... also played against UC Davis ... in track, posted best marks of 54-1 1/4 in shot put (sixth place in Big West finals), 165-11 in discus (fifth in Big West finals), 161-7 in hammer and 167-2 in javelin.

2008 -- Redshirt.

High School -- Boaz recorded 56 tackles as Nipomo High School earned a berth in the CIF-Southern Section Northwest Division playoffs for the first time in school history last fall, posting a 5-6 overall record and finishing tied for third place in the Los Padres League with a 4-3 mark under head coach Russ Edwards ... three of Boaz’s tackles were sacks and he also notched one interception, one fumble recovery, blocked two punts and also blocked a field goal attempt ... earned first-team All-San Luis Obispo County and first-team All-Los Padres League honors as a defensive lineman ... also was first-team all-league as a junior and an honorable mention as a sophomore ... in track and field, placed first in the discus with a throw of 179-10 and second in the shot put with a throw of 53-5 1/2 at the CIF-Southern Section Division III Championships ... also was fourth in the state discus (184-8) and fifth in the shot put (59-4 1/4) ... holds school record in both events ... member of FFA.
