After playing on the defensive line in his first two seasons atCal Poly, moved to the other side of the ball for his final twoseasons ... a potential starter at right tackle this fall, backedup by Michael Freeman.

2011 -- Played in all 11 games as a juniorbackup to Art Munoz at right tackle ... part of a Mustang offensiveline which helped the team finish No. 6 in the nation in rushingoffense, No. 27 in scoring offense and No. 4 in total offense ...the offensive front allowed just 20 sacks in 11 games.

2010 -- Member of squad but did not play in anygames as a sophomore ... backed up the defensive ends.

2009 -- Started first three games and played infive others as a backup defensive end in redshirt freshman season... recorded 10 tackles, including season-high three against SanJose State ... one tackle for lost yardage against Sacramento Stateand assisted on a sack in Dixie State contest ... recovered afumble in Ohio game ... played in 2010 Spring Game and recordedthree solo tackles, including a sack.

High School – Winkelman earned first-teamAll-Santa Clara County, All-San Jose Mercury News and All-Metrohonors as a linebacker and was named most valuable offensivelineman of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League as a senior underhead coach Butch Cattolico at Los Gatos High School ... notched 97tackles (46 solo), including eight sacks, along with four fumblerecoveries, one of which was returned 67 yards for a touchdownagainst Gilroy in the semifinal round of the CIF-Central CoastSection Open Division playoffs ... Wildcats finished the year10-1-1 overall and won the De Anza League title with a 6-0 mark ...as a junior, recorded 70 tackles, including two sacks, as Los Gatosposted a 10-3 overall mark and 6-1 De Anza League record ... duringhis three varsity seasons (2005-07), Los Gatos twice won leaguetitles and was runner-up once; the Wildcats finished first, secondand third in the section playoffs ...
