2020 (Spring 2021) -- Played in two games ... made one tackle against UC Davis and four more versus Eastern Washington, all solo stops ... also against Eagles forced a fumble and blocked a punt.

High School -- Burns notched 25 tackles (17 solo), one interception and two pass breakups as a senior under head coach Chad Johnson at Mission Viejo High School in 2019 ... also blocked four punts, two in the game against Upland and one of which he returned for a touchdown ... also earned a safety against Tesoro ... Burns helped the Diablos to an 11-1 overall record, South Coast League championship and a berth in the semifinal round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 playoffs ... named South Coast League Special Teams Co-Player of the Year.
