Expected to battle Kenny Olson and Michael Otterstedt for the top spot at Sam (outside) linebacker this fall.
2022 -- Played in seven games, primarily as a backup linebacker ... earned five tackles (three solo) and returned an interception nine yards against Sacramento State with 4:21 remaining in the game ... season-high three tackles (two solo) in Montana game.
2021 -- Member of squad but did not play in any games as a redshirt freshman ... expected to back up the Mike linebackers this fall.
2020 (Spring 2021) -- Redshirt ... played in all three games as a backup linebacker ... two solo tackles, one each in Southern Utah and UC Davis games,
High School -- Heffler made 206 tackles, including 44.5 for lost yardage and 15 sacks, in his last two seasons under head coach Joe Kremer at St. Augustine High in San Diego ...
