Thomas Arguello

Thomas Arguello is in his first year as the Cal Poly football Chief of Staff.
Arguello spent the last two seasons as the chief of staff at UCLA. In that role, Arguello worked alongside the head coach on a daily basis and oversaw the program’s activities and operations, as well as the budget. Before that, Arguello was the football director of equipment at UCLA from 2022-24
A veteran of the UC system, Arguello moved to Westwood after five years as an associate director of equipment at UC Davis. With the Aggies, he worked alongside the football, field hockey, lacrosse, men’s water polo, women’s water polo and swimming and diving programs.
From 2013-2017, Arguello was an assistant equipment manager for the NFL’s Oakland Raiders.
Arguello started at quarterback for the University of La Verne in 2010 and 2011, throwing for 3,150 yards and 19 touchdowns. His playing career continued into the professional ranks in 2012, joining the American Football International league’s Dauphins de Nice in Nice, France for one season.
Arguello earned his master’s degree in sport management from the University of San Francisco in 2014. He graduated from La Verne in 2012 with his bachelor’s degree in criminology. Arguello and his wife, Courtney, were married in July 2015.
