Walsh is a fourth-year communication studies major at Cal Polyand has been with the Mustang football team for three seasons,including a redshirt year in 2011. He did not play in any games,first practicing with the defensive secondary in 2011 beforebacking up the slotbacks the last two years.
Walsh was a two-way starter as a wide receiver and safety in hissenior season at Trabuco Hills High School. The team captainrecorded 39 tackles (26 solo), two interceptions, a fumble recoveryand six pass breakups in 2010 and caught 32 passes for 463 yardsand three touchdowns while also rushing eight times for 41yards.
Walsh earned first-team All-South Coast League and All-OrangeCounty honors and was a top-10 receiver in the league in receptionsand the top 25 on defense. He also competed in the 100 and longjump on the track team.
