Expected to challenge Matt Wright and Joey Ruiz for starting nod at Rush (outside linebacker) this fall.
2018 -- Played in all 11 games as a backup outside linebacker in first season as a Mustang ... recorded 10 total tackls (seven solo), including a season-high two tackles against Brown, Montana and Montana State ... also returned four kickoffs 39 yards, including a 14-yard return versus Montana.
Saddleback College -- Evagues earned 23 sacks, a school record, and 28 tackles for lost yardage in two seasons at Saddleback College ... as a sophomore, the defensive end/outside linebacker notched 38 total tackles (18 solo), including 12.5 sacks and 15 tackles for lost yardage, along with two forced fumbles, one pass breakup and one blocked kick, leading the Gauchos to an 8-3 mark, second-place Southern California Football Association National Division Southern League finish and into the first round of the SCFA playoffs ... Evagues' numbers as a freshman in 2016 include 30 total tackles (17 solo), 10.5 sacks, 13 tackles for lost yardage, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one pass breakup ... Evagues earned first-team all-Southern League honors twice and all-state honors in 2016 at Saddleback and was named to the SCFA's All-Academic Team ... a National Football Foundation?Scholar.
High School -- As a senior at Tesoro High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, Evagues emerged as arguably Orange County's top pass rusher, recording a team-leading 13.5 sacks and 24 hurries, and scoring one touchdown ... notched five sacks against Sunset League champion Edison ... a first-team All-South League selection ... fourth on his defense with 71 total tackles, including a team-high 51 solo stops, on his way to team defensive MVP honors ... also earned All-CIF-Southern Section West Valley Division and All-Orange County honors and is also an Eagle Scout ... played in the Brea Lions Club Orange County High School All-Star Game after helping the Titans to a 9-3 overall record, second-place South Coast League finish and to the quarterfinal round of the CIF-Southern Section West Valley Division playoffs ... made the Honor Roll ... in addition to Cal Poly, Evagues was recruited by San Diego, Lamar, Ball State, San Diego State and Southeastern Louisiana ... elected to be a Mustang because "Cal Poly offers a great education and environment to its students. It's a beautiful school and has a great football program."
