2012 -- Played in all 12 games as a reserve defensive tackle in first season at Cal Poly and notched a dozen total tackles (seven solo) ... season-high four tackles against Eastern Washington ... one tackle for lost yardage in Northern Colorado game ... also broke up a pass in Northern Colorado contest ... intercepted a pass and returned it 58 yards for a touchdown against Weber State, giving Cal Poly 28-20 lead in third quarter on way to 45-23 triumph ... transferred to Cal Poly from College of San Mateo in time for 2012 spring practice and notched a tackle in 2012 Spring Game.

Community College -- Wangara was named to the All-Northern California Football Association first team after recording 35 total tackles (19 solo), including 4.0 tackles for lost yardage and three sacks as a sophomore at College of San Mateo ... also notched three pass breakups and a quarterback hurry ... earned the team’s Bulldog Award for leading by example in the classroom, weight room and football field ... helped Bulldogs to an 8-3 record and the Bulldog Bowl championship with a 62-24 victory over Diablo Valley College ... CSM also went 8-3 in 2010 and also won the Bulldog Bowl with a 27-20 triumph over College of Sequoias... Wangara earned 23 tackles (six solo) as a freshman with 1.5 tackles for lost yardage, one quarterback hurry and one pass breakup.
