After a redshirt year in 2010, expected to back up the Sam (outside) linebackers in first full season at Cal Poly ... transferred to Cal Poly from Fresno City College in January 2010.
2010 -- Redshirt ... recorded one tackle and one forced fumble in 2010 Spring Game.
Community College -- Under head coach and father Tony Caviglia at Fresno City College, notched 52 total tackles (24 solo) as a sophomore for the Rams in 2009 ... included in those stops were seven for lost yardage and three sacks ... also broke up three passes and forced a fumble for the Rams, 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the Valley Conference of the Northern California Football Association ... earned All-Valley Conference first-team honors ... played in two games as a freshman at Fresno CC in 2008 and recorded seven tackles, including a sack, and forced a fumble.
High School -- As a senior under head coach Mike Vogt at Buchanan High School in Clovis in 2007, Caviglia garnered 56 tackles (37 solo), including two sacks, to help lead the Bears to a 7-5 overall record, a 4-1 mark for a share of first place in the Tri-River Athletic Conference and a berth in the CIF-Central Section Division I playoffs ... second-team All-TRAC honors ... also lettered in baseball.
Personal -- Son of Tony and Kristi Caviglia, both Cal Poly graduates ... two brothers, Michael and Nicky ... Cal Poly’s only redhead on football team but real hair color is black ... born April 6, 1990 ... majors in political science.
