
Cal Poly Football Adds Boise State Transfer Linebacker Chase Martin

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly football head coach Tim Skipper has landed Boise State transfer linebacker Chase Martin to its 2026 roster.
Martin has spent the last three seasons at Boise State, appearing in 27 games and is a two-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree.
As a freshman in 2023, he saw action in all 14 games, starting two. He finished the season with 14 tackles. In 2024, he played in 13 games, primarily on special teams. He missed all of the 2025 season due to injury.
Originally from Thousand Oaks, Martin attended Thousand Oaks High School where he was a three star recruit. There, he played on both sides of the ball in high school as a LB/RB combo. In 11 games as a senior, accumulated 131 tackles (98 solo), including 8.5 for-loss, 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two interceptions, two pass breakups and two quarterback hurries. He led Thousand Oaks with 127 tackles in 11 games as a junior and notched six tackles for-loss, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, two pass breakup and an interception.
Martin is the third transfer so far to officially join the Mustangs. He joins junior college defensive ends Jalonn Booth and Gavin Molloy.
