Cal Poly Men’s Basketball Releases Big West Schedule

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Featuring the Saturday, Dec. 6 conference home opener, a New Year’s Day home matchup versus defending Big West champion UC San Diego and a Valentine’s Day Blue-Green rivalry showdown against UC Santa Barbara, the Cal Poly men’s basketball program released its 20-game Big West schedule for the 2025-26 season Friday afternoon.

Cal Poly’s full 2025-26 schedule and complete tip times will be released once all non-conference dates have been confirmed.

Under second-year head coach Mike DeGeorge, who directed Cal Poly to the Big West Championship semifinals in March, the Mustangs open their 30th Big West season on Thursday, Dec. 4 at Cal State Fullerton. Big West Bold Week then concludes Saturday, Dec. 6 inside Mott Athletics Center against UC Riverside.

Cal Poly resumes Big West play with the program’s first New Year’s Day matchup since 1966 when welcoming reigning Big West regular season and tournament champion UC San Diego.

Following visits to Long Beach State (Saturday, Jan. 3) and CSUN (Thursday, Jan. 8), Cal Poly hosts UC Davis (Saturday, Jan. 10) and Hawai’i (Thursday, Jan. 15) – which visits Mott Athletics Center for the final time as a Big West opponent.

Three of Cal Poly’s next four Big West matchups occur on the road, beginning Thursday, Jan. 22 at UC Santa Barbara.

The Mustangs return home for matchups with CSUN (Thursday, Feb. 5) and 2024-25 Big West runner-up UC Irvine (Thursday, Feb. 12) before the Valentine’s Day home date with UC Santa Barbara.

Cal Poly hosts Long Beach State on Thursday, Feb. 26 before pivotal road matchups at UC San Diego (Saturday, Feb. 28) and UC Irvine (Thursday, March 5). Cal Poly closes the regular season at home against Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday, March 7.

The 51st Big West Championship returns to Lee’s Family Forum (Henderson, Nev.) March 11-14 Seeds 5-8 square off in the Wednesday, March 11 opening round, advancing to face seeds Nos. 3 and 4 during the Thursday, March 12 quarterfinals. The top two seeds enter for the Friday, March 13 semifinals with the 2026 Big West Championship final set for Saturday, March 14.
